*What is the difference between "Hard cuts" vs "Smooth Transitions?"

In Hard Cuts, the camera cuts to several different camera angles. These are a staple in anything from 2D animations to movies. It makes a scene dynamic and interesting for the viewer. Now on the tuxedo chibi example animation, the characters transition from one activity to the next all in one movie without the camera ever cutting away. This is a "smooth transition".
