*What is the difference between "Hard cuts" vs "Smooth Transitions?"

In the Sarada animation above, the camera cuts to several different angles, in cinema, these are known as "hard cuts". Now on the second example animation, the characters transition from one activity to the next all in one movie without ever cutting away. This is a "smooth transition".
